The story

An edge like a mosaic, not a printed pattern.

Trame takes the principle of a zellije layout, coloured pieces assembled into a border, and moves it into cloth: a centre always left ecru, embroidered by hand. The name carries both of the collection's crafts at once, the structure of a mosaic layout and the weave of a textile. Two layouts are available in each colour, on the tablecloth: Frise, the border runs continuously in two-tone blocks that alternate all the way round, and Pointe, an airier version where only the four corners carry the colour, with several motifs embroidered across the ecru field rather than one.

The same layout is cut into glazed clay at The Zellijist →
